RYA Level 1 Sailing
We run our Beginners Courses between April and October. We aim to get everyone out on the water and enjoy their first time sailing. These are open to everyone aged 16+, with plenty of opportunities to get in control of their boats while having a great time. We will be working towards RYA Level 1 of the adult sailing scheme, which is a first step to a fulfilling lifetime sailing. These courses are an excellent opportunity to get out on the water and get lots of sailing while having a great time and gaining a valuable qualification.

Assumed Knowledge
This course is ideal for beginners and requires no prior learning.
Syllabus
The course will be taught with a ratio of 6 students to 1 instructor in single handed boats and covers the following:
Level 1 - An introduction to sailing dinghies for complete beginners, covering everything you need to know to get afloat under supervision we will teach you how to sail in all directions, including an awareness of launching and recovering

Beginners will be aiming for their RYA Level 1 which equals able to sail in light winds under supervision
