News from the Quarterdeck
Its great to see members who give their time for the benefit of others in the club recognised for their work hard work.
This year the committee felt that Paul Ackerman deserved to have some form of recognition and presented him with lifetime membership for his hard work and dedication to the club over many years a well deserved honour and our congratulations go to Paul.
Thank you from The Training Centre to those who turned up last night it was great to see many interested members .
The training and events planned for the year are exciting and encompass all sections of the club which the Training Centre is keen to do.
If you couldn’t make the meeting we would still be interested in hearing if there is anything that we are not offering that would support your Sailing, Power boating, Yachting or Angling better.
For those who haven’t yet done so why not visit the training section on the site and have a look at some of the courses on offer

As a club we believe in helping people take their first steps or improve their boating skills with many practical and theory courses available at CBYC.
We also have boats that are part of the racing fleet who look for crew on a regular basis and this is a great way to learn how to sail and get involved in club activities.

EPIRB and PLB’s
A lot of boats carry various safety equipment that can alert the coastguard in times of trouble.
Unfortunately these can sometimes come into contact with water and have accidental alerts raised which results in the coast guard being called.
Please check that your equipment is safe and stored securely to avoid such false alerts.
