Application Procedure
In order to proceed with your Membership Application you will need to have a Proposer and Seconder sign your form. They must be members of the Club for at least two years. If you do not know anyone, let us know which section of the club you would like to join and we will put you in touch with the right person who will have a chat with you and will sign your application.
Once your signed application is received your name will be published, for a period of two weeks, on our notice board, for all members to read. It is at this stage if anyone has any objections to your application then they will contact us. You will also be invited to discuss your application with Membership Secretary. We will explain how the Club is run, the role of the committee within the Club, and what is expected of you as a member. Whilst not essential to your application we can discuss your interests and level of experience or inexperience on the water. We can also look at opportunities for assisting you if needed to improve your knowledge of boat handling etc; courses can be recommended whether in-house or organised by reputable local organisations.
After successful attendance of the open evening a recommendation that your application be accepted will be given at the next committee meeting, held on the third Monday of every month. Sometimes the application process can take up to eight weeks, depending upon the number of applicants waiting, but this is often shorter. We welcome applications for membership from like minded people to join us.
* Please note; it is possible that not every application will be accepted and members stay on probation for 12 months.
