RYA Powerboat Level 1
The RYA Powerboat Level 1 course is a comprehensive introduction to powerboating for beginners. Designed by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), this course covers all the basics of boat handling and safety, including launching, docking, steering, and basic navigation. The course also covers safety procedures and emergency situations, helping participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to operate a powerboat safely and confidently. By the end of the course, participants will be able to handle a powerboat in sheltered waters, and will be ready to progress to more advanced levels of powerboat training.

Assumed Knowledge
This course is ideal for beginners and requires no prior learning.
Syllabus
The course will be taught with a ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor and covers the following:

Slow speed boat handling and maneuvering

Basic navigation and pilotage

Rules of the road and basic collision avoidance

Securing to a buoy and anchoring
