Roger Wallington

Honorary Secretary

Roger was one of the first appointed Energy Managers in the UK due to his working knowledge of manufacturing processes and environmental engineering systems. He later went on to manage a European Project in the early 1990s developing smart technology to control heating and appliances, a technology now maturing. He also managed the development of computer systems and programmes now used by the privatised electricity industry.

On retirement in 1999 he became an Accredited Consultant for the Carbon Trust and assisted industry and commerce throughout the UK understand their energy usage, implement efficient systems and set up energy management operations.

He joined the Club in 2010, sails a traditional Memory 19, based on an East Coast Oyster Dredger, and has pursued the development of the TARS and Gaffers sections. He is also the club’s Energy Manager.
