Youth Beginner Sailing Camp
We run our Beginners Camps during the Easter, Summer and half-term Holidays. The camps range between three and five-days and will get everyone out on the water and enjoy their first time sailing. These are open to everyone aged 8 - 16, with plenty of opportunities to get in control of their boats while having a great time. We will be working towards RYA stage 1 and 2 of the youth sailing scheme that is the first step to a fulfilling childhood sailing. These camps are an excellent opportunity to get out on the water and get lots of sailing while having a great time and gaining valuable qualifications. This course is ideal for beginners and requires no prior learning.
The course will be taught with a ratio of 6 students to 1 instructor and covers the following:
Stage 1 - A basic understanding of how a boat sailing, with some experience of steering and handling the boat. Including Launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, basic sailing.
Stage 2 - A range of sailing skills and knowledge to help in becoming a confident sailor. Including Basic sailing skills, ropework, collision avoidance.
8 - 16 years old
9:30am - 4:30pm (before and after care can be arranged)
