Meeting of helms, owners and anyone else on Wednesday 29th October at 8:30pm (ish).

It was great to see a good turnout at the meeting with well over half of the active racing fleet represented.

The following was agreed;

The Race programme would be held as previously published and along the same lines as last year.

Fleets would be allocated based on entries received by the Friday before the start of each series.

All boats in an IRC fleet must have valid IRC certificates before being recognized as competitors.

The Race fees would remain at 2008 levels and payable as previously published. For 2009 payment online will be available.

There will not be any maximum or minimum wind speed limits introduced.

The current race scoring system will not be changed.

Advertising will be permitted as ISAF Advertising Code category C

Also discussed;

Offshore/passage racing. Mike Bailey outlined his proposal for an offshore race programme and a brief discussion followed on the nature of the races and how they would  fit into the inshore race programme. Those interested in taking part were asked to Contact Mike with a view to holding a separate meeting.

Race management. As David is intending to be spending more time on his own boat next year, the fleet were made away of the potential lack of Race Officers to support the race programme. Anybody interested in becoming a race officer was urged to come forward. Full training and support will be provided at no cost.
