- Dinghy Committee Chairman
I have messed about in boats most of my life. I was born in South Africa where my Dad sailed a mirror dinghy and I inherited an optimist from my older brother when I was 5. We moved to New Zealand before my teens, and my family bought a very old long keeled cruiser. Into my 20's I raced on all sorts of more modern boats. I came to the UK in my early 30s and began regular cruiser racing soon after. In my mid 40s I rediscovered the joy of dinghy sailing and now regularly race a laser 2000. Outside of sailing I lead a busy professional life as a solicitor, and I have a long love of the outdoors, which means I cycle, walk, climb etc etc. You could call me a jack of all trades master of none!
