Dear Competitors

The Commodore and Flag Officers of Cardiff Bay Yacht Club would like to extend a warm welcome to all the participants of this years championship’s and trust your visit to Cardiff will be a memorable one.

We are very pleased to have support for this event from Nexus Marine and Cardiff Harbour Authority, our thanks to them.

The entry fee will cover launch/recovery and berthing for the duration of the event and will include tickets for the prize giving dinner. Car parking and trailer parking will be free to competitors and provision for parking a limited number of motor homes can made available within the club’s facilities.

Cardiff Bay Yacht Club and the Harbour Authority facilities are situated within a 200- hectare fresh water lake with access to the sea via a barrage, 24 hours a day 365 days of the year ( visit www.cardiffharbour.com and www.cbyc.co.uk for further information )

Waterborne transport can also be made available to competitors to and from C.B.Y.C. to Mermaid Quay which has excellent access to the heart of the City.

Racing will take place at sea over, laid windward leeward courses approximately one mile off the Penarth foreshore during a neap tidal range. Nexus, have very kindly agreed to provide all the necessary instrumentation for the race officer team.

Daily prizes will be awarded at the club house, after racing and hot food and drinks will be available during the day and evening. Packed lunches will also be available from our caterers for a modest sum.

The Cardiff Harbour Authority are to host a reception after racing on Thursday the 7th of June in the historic "Norwegian Church" situated on the maritime waterfront at Mermaid Quay.

After racing on Friday the 8th of June, Cardiff Bay Yacht Club will host a barbeque at the club house which will be free to all competitors.
