We are pleased to announce that the cruiser racing Spring Series this year is being sponsored by our local chandler MarineScene

19 April 2008 A NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS
A problem has arisen with the delivery of April’s edition of Bear Essentials together with the 2008/2009 Club Yearbook.

Although our printers were advised by their local Post Office that all envelopes were correctly stamped this does not appear to be the case.

If any member has had to pay extra postage, together with a handling charge levied by the Post Office, or has received a postcard from the Post Office advising that there is a letter to collect with extra postage to be paid, then providing you let our Admin Office have sight of the envelope you will be reimbursed.

The printers have asked us to apologise on their behalf to all members for any inconvenience caused.

This is a one-day “refresher” designed to get you back on the water after the winter break. Using the club Lasers, Toppers, Laser 2000 or your own boat, we will help you rig the boats, and run a series of exercises to build your confidence on the water. There will also be an opportunity to try out the Flying Fifteen if you are interested.

Saturday and Sunday 3rd /4th May: Start Racing

This is a two day RYA certificated course designed to teach you everything you need to know to enjoy club racing. The course will be run in club Lasers or Toppers, according to the weather conditions, or you can take part in your own boat.

27 February 2008 Glass Panels Around First Floor Balcony
You may have notice that last year the mesh panels around the first floor balcony overlooking the bay were replaced in glass. In the last few days a number of the panels have had names applied to them, the names being those members who had originally indicated an interest.
As there are still a small number of panels available, any member who would like to see their name across the base of one of those glass panels should contact the Admin Office by letter.
The cost is £60.00 per panel and you will need to send in the payment with your letter on which will need to state the exact lettering you would like to have printed with a maximum of thirty characters

31 January 2008 Club Calendar
There is a new club calendar on the website. It is based on the Club tide tables as will appear in the yearbook and will be kept up to date with all the Clubs activities. If you are organising an event and want it added to the calendar then email the details to the office.
