Event, open to all members of the appropriate Class Association
(single-event membership available on the day). 3 races Saturday,
3 races Sunday, briefing 11.30am on Saturday 21st June. For further

Racing
The
main focus for many in the dinghy members is the race program. During
the less popular parts of the season (winter and early spring) there
are general handicap races on a Sunday. For these events all boats
begin racing from a single start sequence, regardless of their boat
handicap. During the summer series the fleet is split into "performance"
(PY under 1000) 'fast' (PY 1001 to 1150) and 'slow' (PY 1151 or
higher) handicaps. Racing during the late Autumn, Winter and Early
Spring starts at 10.00am and during the sunnier parts of the year
we are experimenting with a 3.00pm start. Recently we have seen
a number of newer boats turning out for races, and those who have
been sailing at the club for a number of years are finding the standard
improving dramatically. In addition to the normal weekly races there
sponsored series - the Stradform Series starts in April - and open
regattas. Increasingly CBYC is playing host to visiting events,
with Enterprise, Osprey, Laser 2000 and Challenger events already
in the diary. |
