General Guidance for cancelling racing :- It is the responsibility of the OOD to decide if racing is to go ahead on any given date. However, the Dinghy Committee are offering as a general guidance, a wind speed of 20 mph as the limit for which racing will start. The OOD will also need to have looked at the various weather forecasts to see what the projected wind strength is for the following 3 - 4 hours when helping to make a decision about cancelling racing. The OOD can also ask those sailors around, what the general consensus is, but will also need to take into account the capabilities of the sailors still willing to race, and the competence of the SB helm / crew in such conditions.
Please note: The safety boat crew should remain in the safety boat at all times and be alert of what is going on around them.
