Minutes From The Dinghy Section Meeting Monday 11th of May

 

Present Idris Dibble, Andrew Phillips, Alex Edwards, Ian Williams.

Apologies Helen Phillips, Mike Joyson.

 

1)      All agreed minutes from the previous meeting in April were accurate.

 

2)      Chairs Report

 

Noted

 

Two new members, Sue Brannan and Alistair Coles.

Idris had received a letter from Mr Paul Taylor who was concerned about incidents at the start line. The letter indicated that there was no protest committee. Which is in fact incorrect. Protest should be made to the OD.  The com felt that protest were covered in the rules update meeting which was held before the start of this current season. All members who registered for racing had been given a copy of the new rule book.

3)      Treasurers report

 

No report was available

 

4)      Report for the main Committee

Noted

 

No official report was given as Mike was unable to attend.

Idris however reported that the work to the Flying Fifteen compound was underway.

That all Flying Fifteen trailers need to have an inflatable jockey wheel to avoid damaging the new compound surface.

 

5)      Flying Fifteen open

 

Noted

 

The FF open was all in hand and organised.

 

6)      Re organisation of the boat compound.

 

Noted

 

There are 8 spaces in the compound left.

There needs to be a clear cut off point for members to pay for their boat storage fee.

Andrew would ask the office to write to members who need to remove boats from the compound.

 

7)      Developments from the previous meeting.

 

Noted

 

Feedback from members to the changes made to the website are favourable.

Ian is still waiting for class reports for the asymmetric, and laser sections to update website.

Andrew will add the advisory note for the upper wind speed to the next OD/ Safety boat rota.

 

8)      AOB

Presentation for the Spring Series would take place on Wednesday 3rd June. The overall winner would receive a cup.

Separate winners would receive a bottle of wine for 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Idris would look into a finger buffet

An invite would go out to C.Y.C
