1) Agreement of Minutes from the previous meeting

2) Chairman’s Report

Noted

In response to the letter sent regarding Swan faeces on the dinghy slip it was felt that a plastic fence was not a suitable deterrent to stop the swans.

Concerns about the slipperiness of the slipway above and below the water line. The mats used need to be pulled clear and cleaned after every sailing session.

A timer isolation switch has been fitted to the winch to prevent children using the winch.

The Com is looking into the cost of leasing the foreshore to enable dinghy storage.

The dinghy com expressed concern at the new wave break concrete structure being installed. These are as follows;

• When visitor berths are occupied the passageway between the wave break and visitor moorings will be narrow
• There is no escape route for high performance dinghies.
• There will be no route to launch in a southerly breeze.

B.M. has been asked to establish a rota for cleaning the slipway above and below the waterline.

M.J. will be asked to raise concerns about the wave break structure at the main com.

M.J. will be asked to establish the status of the Omegas for hire to club members.

3) Treasurers Report

Noted

In response to the fuel costing levelled against the dinghy com the following figures were established.

O boats use a quarter of a tank of fuel in 5 hrs

1 litre a week in the winter months

2 litres a week in the summer

60 races x 2 litres = 120 litres/ year

Agreed

Therefore £ 250 a year considered to be a reasonable cost.

4) Laying up Supper

Agreed

Two tickets at a reduced rate of £8 for paid up racing members.

Extend offer to the CYC members.

Prizes were discussed.

5) AOB

Noted

The com looked at winter evening training and social events as well as running a rules evening on Arbitration, Race game, FF rig and set up, tactics and strategy for ; starting, beating, off wind, gibing. ( John Warburton, Ollie Green, suggested as possible leaders.)

B. M. has written a users guide to using the winch. ID is waiting for training on using the winch.

ID will keep a register of trained members, the training will be valid for 3 years and will need to cover all members in case they help a FF sailor.
