TO ALL MEMBERS  

 

Please note the following schedule of events due to take place in and around our Club from Friday evening 28 August to Monday evening 31 August 2009 with regard to the Welsh Optimist Championships hosted by Cardiff Bay Yacht Club.

 

 

·        Friday evening 28 August   -   in preparation of the arrival of all competitors two rows of parking bays at the top end of the compound will be earmarked for the parking of camper vans and caravans.  These spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  When these bays are full then visitors will be redirected to our overflow car park.  The grassed area to the left just after the main gates will also be used for tents. Part of the compound, nearest to the slipway, will be cordoned off and used for the Optimists and trailers as will the Flying Fifteen area.  Although the entrance to the compound will be blocked off any member wishing to launch their boat, or just to get their car nearer to the slipway if they have heavy items to offload, will need to contact either Steve Davies, a member of the Marina Staff, on 07806071937, or Nick Sawyer on 07767403624 for access. However, we would then ask you to remove your car from the compound and park up to avoid any potential congestion.  All remaining car park places will be available for members parking together with the overflow car park as is normal on busy weekends and to assist with the flow of traffic Steve Davies will be on gate duty for part of each day.

 

·       Saturday 29 August   to  Monday 31 August -   

 

Racing will take place every day culminating with the Prize Giving on Monday afternoon. Competitors should then start to leave on Monday evening.

 

·        Throughout the Bank Holiday weekend the Bar and Restaurant will be open to all members and guests but please note the Restaurant will be closed on Monday evening. 

 

As with other large events hosted by other sections of the Club we would ask all members to please be patient when using the Club over this very busy weekend and to make our visitors welcome.
