Required
for ALL craft using the slipway that are not kept at the Club, this Annual
fee is charged at the beginning of the Club year and payable within 30 days
of invoice. Once payment is received a
PAID sticker will be sent out and
must be displayed prominently on the craft. |

A Berthing form is required for all boats
kept at the Yacht Club, giving details of the boat and the owner(s), including joint
owners and those responsible for the fees.
All must be members.
If
you do not return your form on time you may lose your position. (Additional forms can be obtained from the
office)
It
is important that the form is signed
confirming that your boat has the necessary insurance which is legally required
not only by the Club but also the Cardiff Harbour Authority.
The
Club does not accept liability for the loss or damage to member’s boats or
their equipment whilst stored or berthed on the premises.
You will need to contact the Admin Office immediately if
any of the following apply:
1.
When you sell your boat
· If selling to a non-member, the Club
Member (ex-owner) will remain responsible for all fees until the vessel is
removed from the premises.
· If sold to another Club Member, the
ex-owner will remain responsible for all fees until the office has been
notified in writing of the change of ownership.
· If selling to a Non-member who is
looking to apply for membership, the Club Member (ex-owner) will remain
responsible for all fees until the new owners membership has been passed by the
Council of Management. Even though the
boat may already be on a berth, this is not transferrable. The new owner will
need to apply for a berth and may have to go on a waiting list.
2.
When renaming your boat
3.
If you change your boat i.e. take your boat at club away and
replace with different one. Please note, a new berthing form is required.
4.
When you take your boat away from
the Club for more that a week e.g. for repair, holiday etc
5.
When you have self
launched/recovered your boat and leave it either in the compound or on the slip
waiting
Please Note: If paying Monthly fees you will continue to be
charged for your berth until the office has been notified.
It is a Club rule
that vessels involved in a Commercial Operation or purchased for that use are
not allowed to be berthed or stored on the premises.
Waste Management
The
Club provides a waste skip and waste oil facility. Full details of the facilities are given in
the port waste management plan posted on the notice eboard. All costs associated with the provision of
these facilities are included in the berthing fees.
PONTOON
BERTHS AND MOORINGS:
Whereas
every effort will be made to maintain each vessel on its allocated berth,
occasionally vessels may be required to move to an alternate berth to allow for
more efficient usage of the Club’s facilities.
Please be aware that the Club maintains up to the fixing point. Mooring warps and lines are the responsibility
of the owner.
If the Club staff are required to pump
out boats, replace lines or fenders, etc. you will be charged a reasonable fee. This in no way
reduces the owner’s responsibility to look after his vessel.
Rental – One Off Fee is
charged at the beginning of the Club year (or on boat’s arrival) and must be
paid within 30 days of receipt of invoice to qualify for the discounted rate
and secure tenure of a berth. The fee
provides access to a pontoon berth for one year, with all other services such
as lifts or compound time charges separately at the published rates. The berth is not transferable to a third party and payment is non refundable.
Rental – Quarterly Fee is charged at
beginning of each quarter (April, July, October & January) and must be paid
within 30days of receipt of invoice to qualify for this discounted rate and
secure tenure of a berth. The fee
provides access to a pontoon berth for each quarter, with all other services
such as lifts or compound time charges separately at the published rates. The berth is not transferable to a third party and payment is non refundable.
Rental - Monthly These berths
are available on a first come first served and last in first out basis, however
no guarantee of security of tenure can be made. Fees are charged at the end of
each month and are payable 30 days from the date of the invoice. The berth is not transferable to a third party.
Debenture Holder All debenture
holders must complete and return a Berthing Request. Pontoon management and
maintenance fee (only applicable to existing debenture holders) will be charged
as per location/payment option requested.
Pontoon terms and conditions are as laid out above.
PLEASE NOTE: if the payment terms on the ‘One Off’ and ‘Quarterly’
payment option/fees are not adhered to, the fee will immediately revert to the
Monthly Standard fee with effect from the beginning of the Contract Year.
Compound Storage:
Members
are responsible for providing suitable chocking materials or cradles. The Club has some equipment that is available
for hire.
As
there are only a limited number of spaces in the compound a penalty rate
applies, irrespective of the Club year, and includes for example build/repair
projects that have yet to be launched.
Trailers, cradles,
etc. cannot be stored on the premises when not in use. If the management feel
it is appropriate, a heavy penalty fee will be applied for those left on the
premises
All
compound/dinghy storage spaces allocated must be kept clean and clear of
rubbish, scrap timber, empty paint pots, etc. Also dirty bilge water or any
form of polluted waste must not be discharged onto the compound.
Boat Movements:
A
set rate will apply for a one-way lift using the hoist, i.e. launch, lift out
or lift. A lift out, remain in slings
and re-launch is offered at the rate of a one-way lift but is only available
when the hoist is not otherwise in use.
This is also available over the weekend, lifting out on Friday (last
lift) and re-launching first thing Monday morning.
Using
the tractor to launch, recover or lift a craft on its own trailer will also be
charged.
Except
in emergency, lifts cannot be
accommodated during weekends
Dinghy Storage:
All boats kept in the dinghy
storage area must display a current PAID
sticker as regular checks will be made.
Boats not displaying a sticker will be removed to a secure location
until the fee is paid. Due to limited
Fees for Dinghies, Flying
Fifteen and Beach Cats are charged at the beginning of the Club year and must
be paid within 30 days of receipt of invoice.
Once payment is received a PAID
sticker will be sent out and this MUST
be placed in a prominent position. The
fee is not transferable to a third
party.
DINGHY/FLYING
FIFTEEN/BEACH CATERMARAN - USE IT OR LOSE IT POLICY
In line with the ‘Use it or Lose it’ policy, the owners
of any boat which have failed to achieve the required number of sails in 2009/10
will not be eligible to apply for a space in 2010/11 and will be expected to
remove their boat from Club premises by 31st March 2010 at the
latest.
Boats involved in racing need not register their usage
as this will be picked up through the results.
Casual Sailing needs to be registered in either of the
logs which are kept in the bar or Admin Office.
Launch, Recovery
and Take away:
The
club offers a launch, recovery and take-away fee for craft (including dinghies)
using the slipways but not kept on club premises. This is an annual fee and is non-transferable and non-refundable.
Owners
will be issued with a sticker (once they have paid their fee) which MUST be displayed prominently on the
craft. All trailers must be clearly
marked with the name of the craft and owner.
Unpaid fees
/Abandoned Boats:
The Club has adopted the RYA Recommended Club
rules for unpaid fees/abandoned boats.
“If at
any time any mooring fees or facility fees payable to the Club by any member or
former member shall be three months or more in arrears:
1.
The Council of
Management (CoM) shall be entitled to move the boat to any part of the premises
without being liable for any loss of or damage to the boat howsoever caused.
2.
The CoM shall be
entitled upon giving one month’s notice in writing to sell the boat and to
deduct any monies due to the Club from the net proceeds of the sale before
accounting for the balance (if any) to the member.
3.
Alternatively, any boat
which, in the opinion of the CoM cannot be sold, be disposed of in any manner
the CoM thinks fit and the expenses recovered from the member. Any arrears as
aforesaid shall be deemed to be a debt to the Club by the member.
If you
are having difficulty paying your fees please contact the office who will be
more than willing to assist you.
YOU ARE
REMINDED, as the Club now has its own fuelling berth, fuelling diesel engines
boats directly from cans is against Club rules.
